1. The Seven Areas of Learning & Development

Our learning program comprehensively covers all 7 EYFS learning domains, balancing foundational growth with targeted skill development:

Prime Areas (The Foundation)

Essential for younger toddlers, these areas build the baseline for all future learning:

• Communication and Language: Developing listening, speaking, and expressive skills.

• Physical Development: Gross and fine motor control, spatial awareness, and healthy habits.

• Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED): Building confidence, self-regulation, empathy, and positive relationships.

Specific Areas (Building Knowledge)

As children mature, learning naturally expands into essential academic and creative disciplines:

• Literacy: Phonics, early reading, mark-making, and storytelling.

• Mathematics: Numbers, counting, patterns, shapes, and spatial reasoning.

• Understanding the World: Exploring nature, community, people, and technology.

• Expressive Arts and Design: Imaginative play, music, movement, and visual arts.

Rather than teaching isolated subjects, all 7 areas are seamlessly integrated through play, inquiry, movement, hands-on projects, and daily routines.

2. Characteristics of Effective Learning

We focus deeply on how children learn. Our educators design learning experiences that inspire three core characteristics:

• Playing and Exploring (Engagement): Finding out and exploring, playing with what they know, and having the confidence to "have a go."

• Active Learning (Motivation): Being involved and concentrating, keeping on trying even through challenges, and enjoying achievements.

• Creating and Thinking Critically (Thinking): Having their own ideas, making links between concepts, and finding original ways to solve problems.

3. Observation & Assessment

Assessment at La Malyuk is a continuous, stress-free process designed to celebrate progress and guide future learning without formal testing:

• Authentic Observations: Teachers continuously document milestones, creative work, photos, and observational notes within your child's personal Learning Journey.

• Baseline Profile: Developed within the first 2–3 weeks of enrollment to map initial interests and skills.

• Responsive Planning: Daily and weekly observations are used for responsive lesson planning, ensuring every child receives the right support at the right time.

• Formal Progress Checks: Structured evaluations across all 7 EYFS areas take place 3 times a year, providing clear written insights for parents.

4. Individual Learning Plans (ILP)

Every child’s educational roadmap is tailored to their personal pace, strengths, and unique learning style:

• Individualized Support: Educators continuously adapt learning tasks, environmental setups, and processing times based on daily observations.

• Collaborative Individual Education Plans (IEP): If a child requires structured support, a formal plan is co-created by the Core Educator, Inclusion Coordinator (SENCO), and Parents.

• Clear Milestones: Includes measurable targets, specific strategies, responsibilities, and review timelines to track progress transparently.
